What is Wellness?


1. the quality or state of being healthy in body and mind, especially as the result of deliberate effort,

2. an approach to healthcare that focuses on preventing illness and prolonging life, as opposed to emphasising treating diseases.

I love this definition of wellness, a word that I use frequently and deliberately. Wellness is a state I aspire to live by and cherish.

Knowing that my deliberate efforts lead to living a mindful and prolonged healthy life is a real and powerful way of being. The focus on staying well as opposed to just dealing with illness can dramatically change your life. And it’s not as difficult as you might think.


Why I Choose Wellness

I grew up like most people. When I was sick, my mum would take me to the GP. I would take whatever he prescribed and get better. I would go and get my vaccinations when they were due, but I was also eating Coco Pops for breakfast every day for about 10 years. It’s not my mum’s fault; it’s just how it was for many of us!

Luckily for me, at some point my body had had quite enough of being taken for granted and sent me some not-so-subtle hints – terrible acne, missed periods, unbearable depression, and extreme fatigue.

This led me down a new path – a path of asking questions. Instead of just ‘dealing with it’, I wanted to discover what was at the core of my issues. It was time to make my own path, where I decided how to treat my own health and decide what goes into my body.

And from there my life’s focus shifted from fixing what was wrong to nurturing what was right. This was revolutionary for me. I had started on my way to wellness.

Mind + Body = Complete Wellness

When I began to sort out my body I felt so powerful, like I had discovered a secret. I started to understand how my body functions and what it needed in order to be at its best. And because it was a new world for me I was fascinated. It was all about the body.

But I forgot an important aspect – my mind – and the power it holds. My true moment of change came with the realisation that my mind could not be left behind on my journey to a better life. The body and mind are woven out of the same fabric.

It wasn’t only about the food I was eating and the type of exercise I did. It was also about my thought patterns, my lifestyle, and my state of happiness that contributed largely to my overall wellness. I realised it’s never just one or the other; both are equally important.

That’s when I discovered essential oils and their powerful healing properties for body and mind! Essential oils helped me get rid off a decade of insomnia; they helped to lift my mood gave me a new perspective. They were the missing link to my complete wellness picture.

Your Way to Wellness

So what’s in it for you? Why would you want to embark on this journey with me? You may look at this website and feel overwhelmed. You may not know where to start. Or you may feel like you’ve done it all wrong and that there is no hope. I know I often felt like this – so overwhelmed by the information that it numbed me into not being able to do anything.

But although we all essentially share the same human form, we all have a different way to that unique wellness code where we feel balanced within ourselves. After all, one person’s happiness may be another’s nightmare.

About Me

Born and raised in Germany, I knew from a young age that I would travel far from the seriousness of German culture, where I could live a creative and exciting life. It came as no surprise to my family when, at the age of 19, I announced I was moving to Australia – and the rest, as they say, is history!

My professional journey took me on many different adventures – working as a remedial massage therapist, spa manager, apprentice chef and caterer, Pilates teacher, owner of a fermented foods business, wellness advocate for dōTERRA Essential Oils, and, ultimately, a successful entrepreneur combining my diverse skills and passions. Now I’m sharing this passion with anyone who wants to be inspired and transformed.

My personal health journey began when I contracted a stomach bug while travelling in Indonesia in my early 20s; my gut and overall health began a downward spiral. I had lost count of all the practitioners I saw, all the tests I took, all the supplements I tried, and all the money I spent! But nothing helped. Bad digestive problems, chronic infections, low immunity, depression, and anxiety made my life a living hell.

It’s hard to stay positive when the negative aspects of your health prevent you from fully participating in life. It’s easy to feel isolated and lonely. I had many dark days while struggling with my symptoms.

Through education (and a lot of trial and error), I was able to turn my life around. I cleaned out my food choices for good – not as a diet but as a life-long commitment – and introduced mindfulness and meditation practices. I was able to accept my body’s needs and then accept myself for who I am; today I feel more healthy, vibrant, inspired, and the most authentic version of myself that I have ever been in my life.
